Hi, I’m becky castle miller.

Emotions are important to a healthy Christian life.

Jesus is our model for living in an emotionally vibrant way, yet many of us who want to follow him ended up learning in church to squash, distrust, and ignore our emotions. I’m learning new ways to understand and embrace our God-given emotions as disciples.

I did my master’s at Northern Seminary studying with Scot McKnight where I wrote my thesis on Jesus’s emotions and the history of anti-emotionalism in Christian discipleship. I’m working on turning that thesis into a book. I’m currently working on a Ph.D. in New Testament at Wheaton College studying with Esau McCaulley. My dissertation is about emotions and discipleship in the Gospel of Luke.

My family and I lived in the Netherlands for eight years where I served at an international church. We returned to the US in 2020. My husband and I have five kids and an elderly gentleman cat.
